According to what CDC says, it is not recommending retailers to stop selling products by deli. Neither it is asking customers to avoid eating or buying deli-sliced cheese or meat.

Nevertheless, retailers must know how to clean deli slicers. They should also know how to clean the areas when these products are served or stored in order to avoid cross-contamination.

The ones having a higher risk for Listeria infection (say, for example, newborns or pregnant women) and the ones suffering from weak immune systems must consider either avoiding these deli products or heating to the internal temperature of around 165 degrees just to kill listeriosis.
