Famed former footballer, David Beckham, was caught talking to police while on his luxury yacht in Italy – the Italian ‘Guardia Finanza’ were reportedly questioning him about his kids using jet skis.
In Italy, a person is required to be 18 years or older and have a boat license to ride a jet ski. Beckham’s two children, Cruz and Harper, are 16 and 10.
It is said that Cruz and Harper jumped onto the jet skis for some fun in the water while the family were holidaying on their luxury yacht that is moored off the Amalfi coast in Italy.
Both Cruz and Harper were wearing life jackets and a witness stated that the pair were out for about 5-minutes.
David Beckham was sunbathing at the time.
The Witness said, “Both Cruz and Harper were wearing life-jackets and staying very near the yacht so it is hard to see what the problem was.
“David seemed to call them to come back to the yacht, and they anchored the jet-ski. The questioning by the police went on for about 45 minutes although it looked quite amicable.
“At one point, they asked for documents which David showed them. During the questioning the police recognized David and seemed to chat to him”
As apparent fans, the police also asked for a selfie with the football legend.
David is then pictured leaning over the yacht to fist-bump the officer, before the police sped away.
The witness explained that since the officers are usually dealing with drug smuggling, they joked that they had “better things to do.”
The Beckham family reportedly flew out to Italy last week after spending the pandemic isolating in their £6 million Cotswold home.
David’s wife, Victoria, is also on the trip, as well as their sons Romeo and Brooklyn, and the latter’s fiancé, Nicola Peltz.
It is said that Brooklyn and Nicola are scouting out wedding venues during their trip, though this has yet to be confirmed.
