Even though parents celebrate when their children leave the nest, they will still keep on checking in on you to make sure that you are doing just fine.
One university student sent her mother some photos of her newly decorated bedroom but she forgot to do one important thing: remove her handcuffs!
Like other parents, Ella Martine’s mother was happy and proud of her child’s efforts. However, she didn’t waste any time in mentioning the handcuffs hanging down on her bed rail.
“Nice. Except for the handcuffs??? What’s up with that?” the mother replied to her daughter’s photos.
And of course, there was no more place for Ella to hide, so she shared her embarrassing conversation on social media.
Ella wrote on Twitter: “moms been asking for pics of my new room… finally sent one… i’m so stupid.” Her post gained more than 113K likes within a few days.
Even though she was already caught red-handed, the uni student tried to convince her mother it wasn’t what she was thinking.
“I told her that my roommate was making a short film for a class, she didn’t believe me,” she shared on Twitter.
Her mother went on and said they looked ‘super tacky’ but ‘not very classy.’
But in the end, Ella thought it was hilarious and added: “I’ve gotta boyfriend, y’all. Life’s too short, enjoy the tweet.”
Luckily for her, she wasn’t alone as many other people commented that they also found themselves in the same situations.
One Twitter user wrote: “My mom came over to help clean our house while I was pregnant. While cleaning our bedroom floor she saw the arm and leg restraints on our bed. Needless to say, she wasn’t surprised I got pregnant so fast after the wedding.”
Another wrote about Ella’s mother’s detective skills: “Sounds like we have an undercover cop in our midst.”
