5-year-old Tagan White from Texas tested positive for coronavirus last week but doctors said to her parents, Quincy Drone and Lastassija White, that the virus would not severely affect her.

The parents were also told that Tagan should just get some rest.

But only hours after Tagan was sent home, she was found unresponsive in her room by her mother.

The 5-year-old was rushed back to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

In an interview with KAMR, White said: “My daughter was perfectly healthy. Perfectly healthy. There’s no way that should have happened.”

Tagan’s grieving parents said their daughter wore her face mask whenever she went out. But on October 27, they realized something was wrong with their child.

“She was just sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. That went on until Tuesday and Wednesday,” White shared.

“She was still eating and drinking, and then Wednesday night she started throwing up. So that Thursday, that’s when I decided to take her to the ER.”

Tagan was diagnosed with coronavirus in the emergency room but the physician sent them back home.

“And he came in, they discharged us and just told me that she would be fine, it doesn’t affect kids, not to have her around anybody older,” White told KAMR.

Tagan’s heartbroken father, Drone, said: “This doctor told us that our child would be fine, and our child didn’t even make it twenty-four hours. She died within the next fifteen hours.”

The heartbroken parents now want to share their daughter’s story to raise awareness of the risks of coronavirus in young children.

“We feel as parents that our daughter could have been saved,” Drone expressed. “We just honestly feel like even if – they probably shouldn’t have sent her home. I mean it was just mistakes made…too many mistakes made that cost a five-year-old her life.

“We’re trying to bring light, so this doesn’t happen again. We don’t want any parents to feel what…we can’t even tell y’all what we’re feeling right now.”
