Most of us have already experienced online shopping fail, so let’s have some sympathy for this dad who just wanted to decorate their living room but accidentally ordered an inflatable Santa Claus the size of his house!
Matty James had the entire neighborhood flipped out when the ‘8ft’ father Christmas arrived but it turned out to be a 25ft inflatable beast that made his home look like a Gingerbread house.
“I ordered it a month ago off eBay but didn’t realise it would be massive or as high as my house,” James said.
“I thought it would be about 8ft tall but only realised it was much bigger than that when I laid it all out.
“I remember thinking it looked weird and then all of a sudden, once I started putting the air in it, it kept growing and growing. I did wonder if it was ever going to stop.
“I’m known in the street for doing wacky things and when the neighbours came out they were all laughing their heads off, everyone was in hysterics.”
James saw the hilarious side of the situation so he decided to keep the gigantic Santa up for the festive seasons even though it’s blocking his bedroom and living room windows.
“I took it down on Sunday night because there was a storm and it was very windy. Southport’s near the coast – I didn’t want my house being taken into the sky by this giant Santa,” he shared.
“When I woke up in the morning I looked out and his head would eclipse the window. Downstairs in the front room, when you opened the curtains, there was a big Santa bum in your face.
“At Halloween I had some inflatable zombies so I thought I’d just do that for Christmas. It’s easy, you just blow it up and it’s done. I just wasn’t expecting it to be massive and as high as my house.”
