Daniel Robbin who loved his daughter as every father does had some big dreams for his family.
But he was not aware of the harsh reality which was going to hit him hard very soon.
His 20-year-old wife Leah Cordice who worked as a childcare student in a nursery was in an illegal relationship with a 13-year-old boy she was babysitting. Daniel left shocked and heartbroken after knowing the truth of his wife’s misdeeds.
He said: “It hurts like h*ll. I had an amazing life. Everything was going so well. I had a secure job, a nice place, a good relationship and a beautiful daughter.’’
‘’All of a sudden, everything I cherished was taken away — my child, my wife, my home, my job. What do I have left? It’s heartbreaking.”
Daniel and Leah first met in college in 2015 and they started dating after a while. The pair split in 2017 and Leah who was 17 at that time had intercourse with a young boy. The teen told a jury at Reading Crown Court that Leah asked him to have sex with her and pulled his pants down. Leah continued to exploit the boy sexually even after reuniting with Daniel.
She then messaged the boy telling him how much she loves him. After having s*x with the teenage boy for the first time Leah fell pregnant.
Leah informed about her pregnancy to Daniel and he thought it was his child and decided to get married before their baby’s birth. He says: “I did not plan to become a husband and father so young but at the time I was sure about what I was doing, I was confident.
“I couldn’t see myself with anyone else. I trusted Leah, she trusted me and she was pregnant. I thought, if I am going to do this, why not do it properly? Why not start our own family?”
Five months before their baby’s arrival, the couple tied the knot in a local hotel and invited only a few close friends and family. Daniel says: “The wedding was a bit rushed but I have good memories of the day.”
They started preparing for the home for their daughter’s birth after returning from honeymoon. Daniel said: “The day the baby was born was, and still is, the best time in my life. Seeing her coming into the world changed my view on love, it opened my mind.”
“She was very happy, she was funny. Every time I got a new top she’d throw upon it. She’d spill her milk all over me and dribble in my face but I didn’t mind at all. I enjoyed every moment of fatherhood, I really did. It was the best time… until the DNA test.”
In July 2018, Daniel received the shock of his life when he was ordered to take a DNA test to prove he was the biological father of the baby after Leah was arrested.
The result proved that the teen boy with whom Leah was in an illegal relationship was the father of the girl. Daniel said, “It totally traumatized me. Having the baby taken away, finding out she was not mine.”
