Dad Cut Off All Of His Teen Daughter’s Hair As A Punishment For Getting Them Highlighted On Her Birthday

Beauty is related more to our soul than just our body; it is deeper than visual appearances.

Such sayings and notions are intended to highlight the importance of a person’s beauty beyond the physical realm.

No doubt, these sayings are completely true. However, the physical appearance and beauty of a person can also not be neglected.

And when it comes to physical beauty, hair is one of the most important components of our appearance.

That’s why a bad haircut can make anyone feel low about themselves. It is the last thing people would want and if it’s done against their consent, it can even be counted as abuse.

A similar story of a teenager made it to social media. The story is about her hair, more specifically, a forced haircut that ruined her birthday and the days to come.

When Kelsey turned 13, she decided to get a new look, just like any teenager. As her birthday gift, she wanted to get her hair highlighted.

Her mother, Christin Johnson, promised to give her the requested birthday gift and took her to a salon to get the highlights.

After she got them, her mother captured an adorable picture of her in which she can be seen all proud and happy on the new hairstyle she just got – but her happiness was short-lived.

When Kelsey went to see her father and stepmother a couple of days later, something unexpectedly cruel happened to her. The photos of the beautiful girl after the visit are heartbreakingly sad.

Poor Kelsey is too ashamed to even show her face in the photos that were taken after the trip to her dad’s place.

But you don’t need to see her face to tell how upset she is. Her shiny, long, and freshly-highlighted hair are no more there in the later pics. All you can see is awfully short hair, cut in an ugly manner.

A fundraiser created to help Kelsey, by her aunt, states that her father and stepmother forcefully cut her hair when they learned that she had got highlights.

They did this cruel act as a punishment to tell her that “actions have consequences.”

As it appears, the people supposed to care and love the young teen decreed that the consequence for looking pretty was to give her an ugly, unwanted haircut.

Kelsey’s father and stepmother, however, are now paying back for what they did to the poor teen.

Both of them are Middleton Township firefighters – and after the incident sparked outrage, they’d been suspended and sent on administrative leave.

Johnson said in her Facebook post that the purpose of chopping Kelsey’s hair off was none other than humiliating the young lady.

Kelsey’s aunt revealed how her un-welcomed and forced haircut made her suffer emotional abuse.

The people who reacted to the Facebook posts about Kelsey’s story were profoundly hurt, with some suggesting her to get hair extensions.

Someone on social media asked if her father would do the same again by cutting the extensions. Kelsey’s mother replied: “Yes! Or have them removed!”

Wood County Job and Family Services have initiated an investigation into the matter and there would soon be justice for the young teen, who by no means deserved such degrading humiliation.

After her story went viral on social media, Kelsey received love and support from all over the world. Lady Jane’s in Toledo, Ohio even stepped up to help Kelsey “feel more like herself” by letting her choose a wig of her liking.
