Dad Asks For Refund Of Daughter’s Tuition Fees After She Gets The School’s Slogan Tattooed


A father is asking for a refund of her daughter’s school tuition fees after she got a prominent tattoo on her chest of the school’s motto.

Fifty-two-year-old David Harper who works as a BBC antique expert paid £15,000 for her daughter to attend Barnard Castle School. Hetti, her daughter had been going to school since she was five.

The twenty-three-year-old Hetti formed a band and opted for getting a tattoo. However, her choice was very unusual as it was her school’s slogan that she got tattooed across her choice.

David is a star of BBC’s Antiques Road Trips is asking the school to return his money that he spent as Hetti’s tuition fees. He believes that the tattoo is a form of free advertising for the school, and he should be refunded the fees.

Hetti’s tattoo reads ‘Parvis imbutus tentabis grandia tutus’ which translates to ‘When you are steeped in little things, you shall safely attempt great things’. She got inked three weeks back to honor the boarding school’s slogan.

She has been stopped by people to explain the meaning, however, her father is not so impressed and freaked out when he first saw the ink. Even her mother was shocked.

David said that he was furious that after spending so much on her daughter’s education, she would be free advertising for the school.

He later realized that he could ask the school to sponsor her music career and for a refund of some of the school fees that he had paid.

Hetti has been trained as a classical singer at the school and used to be the head of the school’s choir. She left the school when she was eighteen to form her own band by the name ‘Tiffany Twisted’.

She moved to London three years ago and has been composing and writing music for the last two years. Her band will be releasing their debut track on 20th August.
