Bars and restaurants are some of the affected businesses as the latest coronavirus advice focuses on social distancing.
When one restaurant has been forced to close to prevent the spread of Covid-19, one kind customer made life easier for the workers who were facing financial worries.
Coaches Bar and Grill in Ohio closed its doors indefinitely as gatherings of over 10 people are no longer recommended in the United States.
But a generous diner left a $2,500 tip for everyone to share!
Sharing the amazing experience on Twitter, Coaches on Bethel wrote: “When the going gets tough, the tough stay loyal. This loyal, amazing patron of Coaches on Bethel left the staff a $2500 tip to help lighten the losses during this required closing of Restaurants & Bars in Ohio.”
The diner also left a note naming who they wanted the tips to be split between.
“Please split this tab equally between Tara, Nicky, Jim, Liz and Arrun. The tip amount is $2500.0,” it reads.
In an interview with WCMH, one of the workers, Benny Leonard, said: “It brought some of them to tears. They are going to split it 13 ways and it’s going to help them. We are a family and we will get through it together.
“[There were] tears, tears of joy. An unbelievable act of kindness on a pretty weird day.
“We’ve got unprecedented times going on, we’ve got people fighting over toilet paper and so on and so forth, and to have a guy show up and care enough about people that give him a beer and a hamburger once in a while, that means a lot. It’s humanity at its best.”
