Couple Caught On Camera Vandalizing BLM Mural Approved By City Officials


The police have been looking for the alleged couple who vandalized a Black Lives Matter mural in California after the tribute was approved by city officials.

The incident occurred in Martinez, California, where an unidentified pair got caught on camera vandalizing a city-sanctioned BLM mural on the 4th of July.

Just hours after the mural had been finished by members of the community who received permission from the City, the couple stopped by whereas the woman started spreading black paint over the first two letters of the slogan.

As passersby started to gather and confront the couple, the man defended their actions by saying they’re “sick of the narrative.”

“The narrative of police brutality, the narrative of oppression, the narrative of racism, it’s a lie,” he elaborated.

“There is no oppression. There is no racism. It’s a leftist lie, from the media.”

As the woman continued to paint over the mural, her male companion kept on arguing with the witnesses and insisting that the slogan is racist because “all lives matter.”

Following the incident, the police have asked for help in identifying the couple and claimed they would “be held accountable for their actions.”

“The community spent a considerable amount of time putting the mural together only to have it painted over in a hateful and senseless manner,” the Martinez Police Department said.

“The City of Martinez values tolerance and the damage to the mural was divisive and hurtful. Please help us identify those that are responsible for this crime, so they can be held accountable for their actions.”

According to the reports, the mural has been repaired by community members on Sunday, one day after the incident took place.
