Genius Couple Used Motion Sensitive Sprinkler To Keep Car Thieves Away

A South Californian couple who had enough of thieves attempting to steal things from their car has come up with a genius idea to solve the problem.

It is, by far, probably the best idea for this.

We all know about the security light that turns on automatically when someone is near it but this clever family went one step ahead of that.

They opted to have a motion-sensitive sprinkler, installed to soak any prospective thieves trying to make an attempt on their property.

They’ve also got a camera installed in their doorbell to have an eye on such situations.

Katie Camarena, who lives with her husband Josh in Porterville, South California, thought of the idea of a motion-sensitive sprinkler after hearing too much about thieves roaming around in their locality, looking to steal petty things like tools or anything left in a car that can be sold.

Katie explained in a post on Facebook: “We have been having issues with people coming into our neighborhood to try and steal tools out of vehicles (And anything else they can get their hands on).

“Our flood light didn’t seem to scare them off, so we decided to have a little fun with a motion activated sprinkler that has an impressive amount of pressure.”

A video shared by Katie on Facebook shows a kid cycling down to her pick-up standing on their driveway. As the kid approaches the vehicle, the sprinkler starts its action, soaking him.

The sprinkler, installed behind the truck, works exactly the way it needs to. The kid gets the lesson that he has no business with the truck and gets away from it.

In her Facebook post, Katie also provided a link to the sprinkler she used, where you can go to buy the product.

The Facebook post has since gone viral on social media and people appear to be largely impressed by Katie’s intelligence.

So far, the post has got 14,000 likes and people have shared it around 85,000 times.
