When Aaron Bairos and Jessica Gomes met in 2007 as students, they didn’t know that they would eventually spend the rest of their lives together.
To make things even better, they found that they came into the world on the same day and in the same place!
In an interview with PEOPLE; Gomez said: “I knew from the very beginning that he was different—he was respectful, and he made me laugh.
“He still makes me laugh! No one else can do that. From the start, we both knew we were right for each other.”
Speaking about the day they realized they had much more in common, Gomes said: “Very early on, we found out we have the same birthday, probably when we were talking on AIM back in the day.
“Then we connected the dots that we were in the same hospital.”
Both Bairos and Gomes were born on April 28, 1990 at Morton Hospital in Massachusetts, and they were the only ones who were born in that hospital that day.
“I didn’t believe him at first when he told me he had the same birthday, it was crazy, I thought he was trying to pull a smooth one and win me over,” Gomes recalled, adding that they showed each other proof of their birthdays.
“Every birthday is a big running joke in the family, and we always celebrate every year with them and our group of friends.”
It was in 2015 when Bairos popped the big question as they walked through the Boston Public Garden, where he asked family and friends to hide for the romantic proposal.
For the two lovebirds, their unique births is just one piece of their very long love story.
“We hope our story can bring a smile to people’s faces, because that’s what the world needs right now.”
