A couple found out that they both fell pregnant around the same time and with the same sperm donor after deciding to start their own family.
31-year-old Taryn Cumming and her 33-year-old fiancée Kat Buchanan have wanted to have kids of their own ever since their relationship kicked off.
As the couple from Auckland, New Zealand, now found out, they both fell pregnant around the same time and there’s a chance they will give birth at the same time as well.
According to the lovers, they took matters into their own hands and looked for a sperm donor on their own.
Soon enough, Taryn and Kat “found someone really decent” over Facebook and decided to go on with their plan of becoming mothers.
“We know his medical history as well as family history. He goes for STD checks and his sperm was analyzed, and we have a contract in place for his and our protection,” Cumming told Daily Mail Australia.
As the couple confirmed, they started trying to get pregnant back in February but neither of them conceived until they both fell pregnant just days apart at the end of March.
While the babies are due nearly two weeks apart, the couple believes they have high chances of giving birth at the same time.
“It’s highly likely actually. Women feed off each other’s hormones so the potential for them to be born at the same time is high,” Cumming added.
To help similar minded people get through with their plans, Kat and Taryn also started blogging about their experience.
“This way I can tell women about our experience with artificial insemination, how we did it, what tools we used, how to find a donor and what questions to ask your donor. I love helping people,” Cumming concluded.
