A couple asked people to fund their wedding and honeymoon amid coronavirus crisis and Internet users brutally slammed them.
While most of the couples have postponed their weddings amid coronavirus outbreak, one couple has decided to have a lavish wedding and honeymoon using strangers’ money.
A picture of the post was shared to Reddit and Redditors slammed the couple for asking people to fund their lavish wedding and honeymoon.
The post read: “We are planning our wedding to take place in September. Unfortunately we are both fighting chronic illness and try to stay above water during the Covid-19 crisis.”
“These are hard times but we don’t want this to stand in our way of love and happiness.”
The couple told that they are having an all traditional/modern wedding and plan to go to Peru, Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, or Japan for their honeymoon.
They said if they could go to one of those locations for their honeymoon, they would think their dream has been fulfilled.
The post read: “This wedding is supposed to be all traditional/modern wedding but our dreams have been narrowed down because of our chronic illness and medical costs.”
“We also have dreams for our honeymoon with locations like Peru, Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, and Japan. If only we could do 1 of those locations we would see this as our dream fulfilled.”
Initially, it seemed the couple was going to make an announcement that they wouldn’t be able to invite people to their wedding due to coronavirus crisis but it turned out something else.
The couple then asked guests to help them fulfill their dream of having a lavish wedding and honeymoon.
They asked to donate anything to them and in return, they would give them some of their latest tracks to enjoy. They included a GoFundMe page link with their post.
The post concluded: “You could make the difference in helping us fulfill that dream. If you can afford to donate anything it would mean the world to us! [Since] I am a musician at heart I can give in return some of my latest tracks for you to enjoy.”
Redditors were left stunned after seeing the post and slammed the couple brutally.
They branded the couple ‘tacky’ and ‘selfish’ for asking people to donate for their wedding.
While some believe if you don’t have money, have a simple wedding instead of asking strangers to donate for the wedding.
