A couple from North Carolina was driving across the Wright Memorial Bridge on the night of June 23. Markus Heyder was behind the wheels, and Erin Hutchko was looking at the bridge when she spotted something alive on the bridge’s railing.
They were speeding at 60 mph when Erin turned on her seat to have a clear look at what it was. She swore that she saw a pair of eyes staring back at her.
So, Heyder drove back around to see the ‘strange creature’ for the third time.
No, it is not a plot from some flop horror movie, just watch that video below!

Erin wrote about this experience on Facebook, in the post she mentioned that for the third time it was a charm.
It turns out that the ‘strange creature’ was a tortoiseshell kitten, I told you it wasn’t a flop movie plot.
She was perched dangerously on the side of the bridge, so close to the edge that she could easily fall to her death.
Seeing her in this position, the couple was scared that the cat might jump off the bridge. They had turned on the blinkers and were pumping the breaks.
When Heyden pulled over the car, Hutchko got out and slowly approached her. She had a towel in her hands. She carefully leaned towards the cat and as soon as she was close enough, picked the kitten up. Together they went in the car. The entire scene was captured by Heyder and posted on Facebook.
Hutchko wrote that she was glad that the cat didn’t fell over. The camera did not capture her jumping around the back of the support beam and then clinging to it. This was the reason why Hutchko had to lean over and pick her carefully.
The kitten was terrified, and all the couple could do was stroke her head as they were heading their home.
The cat was later named as Bridgett Joy Turtle Heyder by her rescuers, and a trip to the vet confirmed that she was healthy. She weighs 1.5 pounds and is just six weeks old.
She has a Facebook page by the name ‘Bridgett Joy the Bridge Kitty’ on which she (or the family) wrote that she is now doing well, eating well, and playing well.
