Couple Took Living Room ‘Cruise’ After Their Planned Holiday Was Cancelled Due To Coronavirus


The coronavirus outbreak may have canceled holiday plans for millions of people, but one couple from Australia decided to get creative by having their own ‘cruise’ in the comfort of their living room!

Norma and Dave already made plans to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary on a cruise around the Pacific. However, the coronavirus outbreak caused trips across the globe canceled.

The couple then came up with an alternative by having a cruise in their living room!

Their daughter, Jane, shared a short video on TikTok showing the couple enjoying drinks with their feet up with a video of the sea on the television screen.

“We had an idea that if we put a video up of water on their TV and they dress as though they would on their cruise they might not feel so disappointed as they were really looking forward to going to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary,” Jane said.

“Needless to say, we all had a chuckle over making the quick video.”

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Australian government has introduced strict measures, including guidelines for people returning from overseas.

In a press conference, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said: “This is very important, what we’ve seen in recent weeks is more countries having issues with the virus and that means the source of some of those transmissions are coming from more and more countries.

“We know that the virus cannot be absolutely stopped – no one can do that – but we can slow the spread.

“And we anticipate that will be our task over the next six months.”
