This is a horrifying moment a couple fell 25ft from the balcony after they broke the railings during a fight.
Yevgeny Karlagin and Olga Volkova, both 35, were seen having a heated argument by neighbors who filmed the incident that occurred in St. Petersburg, Russia.
They were both taken to a hospital where they received treatment for severe but not life-threatening injuries.
In the video taken at around 10 in the morning, the railings of the balcony suddenly came loose when the arguing couple leaned on them, causing the pair to lose balance and plunge to the ground.
Mr. Karlagin was fully dressed while Ms. Volkova was wearing underwear with a blanket or robe wrapped around her when they fell.
St. Petersburg authorities are investigating the incident after Volkova and Karlagin reportedly suffered broken limbs.
Speaking to Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, witness Denis said: “I was walking with my colleague and filming the historic street view. I noticed the row and began to shoot when this happened.
“Someone with medical experience was nearby, and checked their pulses, saying they had both survived. We called an ambulance.
“We called an ambulance.”
The state prosecutor’s office is said to be checking whether the balcony railings were in a state of disrepair or poorly fitted.
The building is said to date back to 1833.
In October 2019, a couple fell to their deaths from an overlook at Yosemite National Park.
According to reports, Vishnu Viswanath, 29, and his wife, Meenakshi Moorthy, 30, died ‘of multiple injuries to the head, neck, chest and abdomen, sustained by a fall from a mountain.’ Both of them were ‘intoxicated with ethyl alcohol prior to death.’
