A couple was shocked after their wedding photoshoot turned out to be more fairytale-like than they planned as a deer joined them and started munching on the bride’s flower bouquet.
Luke and Morgan were thrilled to take post-ceremony pictures in the same area where they tied the knot before starting their life as husband and wife.
What the newlywed couple didn’t expect, however, was that a deer would join them and start munching on the bride’s bouquet.
“It was very overcast that day and we didn’t have a true golden hour, but what happened instead trumped that pretty light we were hoping for,” Photographer Laurenda Bennett revealed in an interview with Bored Panda.
As she explained, the buck was grazing on the field nearby before joining the couple much to their surprise.
Rather than being afraid of them, he stayed for the photoshoot and kept on stealing roses from Morgan’s bouquet until they were all gone.
“He was very interested in Morgan’s bouquet. He was pulling roses out one by one,” the photographer added.
“Morgan and Luke raised the bouquet a few times and he would jump up for it. I’m just in front of them snapping away, instinctively.”
After taking enough photos of the memory of their lifetime, Morgan decided to give up and dropped the rest of the flowers so that the deer could finish the bouquet.
“We walked away for about 15 minutes to finish up our portraits and when we came back, the deer was gone but there was one white rose still intact. Morgan joked it was like the final rose from The Bachelor,” Laurenda said.
After the unusual encounter, the self-taught photographer proudly shared her photos on her Facebook page where she wrote:
“Deer: 1 Bouquet: 0 When the field you want to take bride & groom portraits in has an overtly friendly deer… you roll with it until the deer decides the bouquet is lookin’ like a good snack. Morgan & Luke, you rock.”
