Couple Described Their Drive-in Wedding Amid Coronavirus Crisis As Easy And Less Stressful


Brennan and Abby Norman from Utah were due to get married on April 25 but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the couple couldn’t get married as they planned.

Instead, they held a drive-in wedding in Morgan, Utah where the guests watched and listened in on the ceremony while sitting comfortably in their cars.

Brennan told PEOPLE: “We knew things had to change.point 166 | We knew we wouldn’t be able to have a reception.point 207 |

We knew we weren’t going to be able to have any sort of parties or major gatherings when they started shutting down all the schools.point 110 | point 113 | 1

Initially, the couple didn’t know how it was going to work but they decided to do it anyway.

Brennan and his friend took the help of a local Radio Shack and used an FM transmitter so the guests could listen to Abby walking down the aisle, the couple’s wedding vows, the music and everything about their drive-in wedding.

About 30 cars were present at the wedding and the guests sat in their cars and listened in on the ceremony.

Brennan’s close friend Tsering Lazerson said it was very organized and amazing to sit in the car and watch and listen in on the ceremony.

Guests enjoyed the wedding while sitting in their cars and clicked pictures of the couple who came up with this great idea of a drive-in wedding.

Brennan’s friend Lazerson said they all honked their horns and shouted to congratulate the couple who left in their car after their unusual wedding.

The couple said it was less stressful as they didn’t worry about decorations, food, and other things.

Brennan said: “It was just, we show up at 4 o’clock, and my now-wife would walk down the aisle and we’d get married in this gorgeous valley we live in. It was actually very easy.”

Brennan and Abby are now planning to have a reception and honeymoon once the coronavirus crisis ends.
