A couple has been banned from Walmart for one year after donning face masks with a swastika symbol and walking into the store.
The incident occurred at a Walmart in Marshall, Minnesota, where a couple was caught on camera arguing with customers and flaunting middle fingers while wearing face masks with the Nazi symbol on them.
The disturbing footage, in which the couple is seen paying for their groceries, was shared on Facebook by Raphaela Mueller.
“You’re sick. You have an illness, you can’t be American and wear that mask,” one off-camera customer told the couple wearing the hateful bandanas as masks.
As the couple was confronted by several shoppers, the woman raised her arms and pointed her middle fingers at the camera.
After one of the customers told the couple that Americans fought the Nazis in a war, the woman denied being a Nazi and attempted to justify their actions saying “socialism is going to happen here in America.”
Following the confrontation, Mueller, who was born and raised in Germany, shared the footage online and wrote:
“Let me make this abundantly clear once and for all – THE SWASTIKA IS A HATE SYMBOL AND YOU DO NOT FLY THE FLAG, YOU DO NOT WEAR THE SYMBOL ANYWHERE ON YOUR BODY, YOU DO NOT USE OR DEFEND THIS SYMBOL, EVER. END OF STORY.”
As Mueller explained, the store manager claimed he “didn’t have the power to keep them out, regardless of what mask they were wearing.”
According to KARE, Walmart informed the station that the couple in question has been banned from all Walmart stores for a year. If found trespassing, they could face an arrest.
“What happened today at our store in Marshall, MN is unacceptable. We strive to provide a safe and comfortable shopping environment for all our customers and will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment in any aspect of our business,” Walmart statement read according to KARE.
“We are asking everyone to wear face coverings when they enter our stores for their safety and the safety of others and it’s unfortunate that some individuals have taken this pandemic as an opportunity to create a distressing situation for customers and associates in our store.”
Replaced!
