Meet Esther the Wonder Pig! She’s capturing hearts all over the world without even trying.
Derek Walter and Steve Jenkins from Canada adopted her thinking they had purchased a pygmy piglet. However, they ended up with more than they bargained for.
After two years, their little princess turned out to be a full-size commercial pig! But even though she’s gigantic, the friendship and love they experienced from Esther changed their lives for good.
In addition, Esther also changed their lifestyle choices. When the couple realized how friendly and intelligent Esther was, they couldn’t bear the idea that they were eating other pigs that were as friendly and loving as their pet.
Without any training, Esther learned how to open cabinets, doors and even the refrigerator. She was also trained to go outside or use a litter box.
Walter and Jenkins became motivated to help other animals that they opened up their own animal sanctuary. But they are not the only ones who love their big baby!
Esther the Wonder Pig has more than 500k followers on Instagram. She was also named animal influencer of the year at 13th annual Libby Awards which recognizes celebrities, companies, and brands that are committed to animals.
Now, Esther has her eyes set on Hollywood, but there have been lots of struggles in the past year. It was discovered she had breast cancer but thanks to surgery, she is now cancer free.
The Hollywood movie production company the Donners, the producers behind Free Willy and X-men series are collaborating to turn Esther into a movie!
