Since the couple switched to a new home, they have taken in 15 dogs in dire need of a forever home and provided them with food, medicine, and love.

As the couple explained according to Bored Panda, they also drive dozens of miles per day in order to feed and care for other strays on the island since there is no shelter available.

“At the moment, there are 15 adopted stray dogs living with us: 2 blind doggies, 4 with disabilities. All of them have their own stories—saved from death as a puppy, blind, paralyzed,” they expressed.

While the couple, along with all of their dogs, were temporarily homeless due to their landlord refusing to extend their rent, they managed to find a new home in an isolated part of the island where the pups can enjoy their lives to the fullest.

To help rescue more dogs in need, the couple also started a Sabai Dog Koh Kood Facebook page where they share news and adorable photos of their dogs and their missions.

“We are no vets by far, but as time passed, we didn’t even notice how we learned to deal with serious wounds and got more and more medical knowledge about different diseases,” Mantas and Rasa insisted.

To avoid dog overpopulation and consecutively more strays, the couple is also working with local agencies and organizations to have more dogs spayed/neutered and secure a brighter future for the furry companions on the island.
