Coronavirus Infected Seven Members Of A Family, Taking The Lives Of Three


Coronavirus infected seven members of a family in New Jersey and took the lives of three.

The mother has become the third member to succumb to the virus after she was rushed to hospital with symptoms of covid-19.

73-year-old Grace Fusco passed away only hours after her son, Carmine Fusco, died of the disease.

Grace’s daughter and Carmine’s sister, 55-year-old Rita Fusco-Jackson, also passed away after testing positive for coronavirus.

Roseann Paradiso Fodera, Carmine’s cousin, said to NJ Advance Media that Grace passed away after spending Wednesday ‘gravely ill’ and breathing with a ventilator.

The 73-year-old passed away without knowing her two children had died before her.

Four family members of the same family were also hospitalized at CentraState Medical Center in New Jersey. 20 other relatives are quarantined at their homes.

Elizabeth Fusco, Fusco-Jackson’s sister, said to NJ Advance Media: “This has been devastating for all of us.

“Our hearts are broken over losing our sister, Rita. We just need help in saving our family members with life-saving medication.”

During the interview, Carmine was in critical condition before he passed away on Wednesday.

The family lawyer, Fodera, said the situation is ‘surreal.’

“To imagine a week ago to get a phone call like this – if someone told me this story, I wouldn’t believe it,” she expressed. “It’s inconceivable to me.”

19 spouses and children are waiting for coronavirus test results.

The cases within the NJ family are connected to 69-year-old John Brennan, a horse trainer who died of coronavirus. He was also the first New Jersey resident to die of the disease.

According to a health commissioner, Brennan attended a Fusco family gathering. That gathering is believed to be the source of the disease.
