An elderly couple from Mississippi who contracted the coronavirus disease aboard a cruise ship lost their lives within 6 minutes of one another while holding their hands together last week.
Frances and Jerry Williams passed away on 1st April.
The Long Beach pair were married for more than fifty years died within a few minutes gap with their hands entangled lovingly. The couple loved to go on cruise ships and went for one recently when Covid-19 had just begun making headlines.
The couple generally returned home with slight illnesses but this time, they came back with a highly-contagious and deadly disease. It is unknown on which cruise they were on at the time they contracted the disease.
A pastor noted that the couple usually fell sick after they returned from their cruise trips but his time, seventy-two-year-old Mrs. Frances went on a ventilator.
Mr. Williamson then called the pastor to tell him everything and the pastor revealed that the seventy-two-year-old husband was crying and worried to death about his beloved’s well-being.
The pastor added in his speech at the funeral that their love story is unique because the couple entered this life together and lived together.
Jerry had been a Navy veteran while his wife was a retired phlebotomist. Jerry was also a fan of Alabama Crimson Tide and Frances worked in the flower committee at the Church.
A private ceremony was held on Monday at Riemann Family Funeral home for remembering the lives of the couple.
Jerry’s coffin was covered in an American flag to commemorate his Navy service as well as his career as the public works supervisor in Gulfport’s Armed Forces Retirement Home.
The couple is survived by two children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
