Coronavirus will be an unwelcome companion in our lives for the remainder of our year 2020.
And not only that, it would become worse and we would have to live with the pandemic virus, according to the top scientist of the United Kingdom, Professor Chris Whitty. He has reportedly said: ‘It’s not just in Game Of Thrones that winter is always coming … the winter is always worse than summer, spring and autumn for health services.’

This is somehow contrary to the reassuring statements made by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week who has made it clear that Britain is certainly ‘past the peak,’ Prof.point 278 |
Whitty warns that the ‘R’ (reproductive rate) of the virus was not kept below one then the second wave of infections will be likely in the foreseeable future, not even distant.point 158 | In particular, the virus reproduction ‘R’ number must be kept below one, meaning that the infected must pass it onto no more than one other person if the disease gets hold of them.point 320 | 1
Boris Johnson obviously acknowledges this notion , but somehow insists that it will never get up above one, which if it had been the case, would have meant a serious damage to the UK economy and social infrastructure.point 290 |

Prof Whitty said: ‘We need to make sure that R does not go back above one. Because if not we will go back to a second wave. It is entirely plausible for a second wave to actually be more severe than the first if it is not mitigated. Every country has got an extremely difficult balancing act, and we all need to be honest about the fact there are no easy solutions here. Covid-19 is a very long way from finished and eradication is technically impossible for this disease.’
He added, ‘There may be a seasonal element to this, we don’t know, it’s too early with this virus.point 204 |
