Amid Coronavirus Pandemic, There Has Been an Increase in Racist Discrimination Against Asians


Countries around the world are reporting assaults on Asians amid coronavirus outbreak, making it an even worse situation of racial discrimination.

The coronavirus outbreak is being called the epidemic of the century.

The last epidemic occurred in 1918 and killed about 50,000 million people. If corona is not tackled right away, it may kill as many people too.

In the United States alone, more than 6,000 cases have been confirmed, and about 230 people have died due to the virus.

The epidemic is not stopping right now, and we all need to come together to fight it.

At first, people were just avoiding going to the Asian restaurants and verbally boycotting the Asians, but now it has risen to a higher level.

People are targeting Asian people and explicitly showing racial discrimination and crimes against them.

To escape the crimes being carried out against them, several people have been using the hashtag #JeNeSuisPasUnVirus. The line in French means “I am not a virus.”

A student in Australia was brutally assaulted for being Chinese.

Mark Holgate, his fencing teacher said that he is ashamed of being an Australian, and now the boy will have to undergo costly surgery to reconstruct his face and save his eye just because he speaks a different language.

Another case came out as a filmmaker Lucy Sheen told she was asked to “Fuck off from here and go back to China” while she was on a bus.
