Most people go out of their way to not come in contact with the skunks, but this police officer in South Bend, Indiana is doing the exact opposite with the skunk.
Officer Ron Kaszas from the South Bend Police Department recently rescued a skunk which got stuck between the ice cream cup. It is easy for the skunks to get their head in the opening, but then they are not able to get it off.
The whole video of the skunk being rescued was captured by someone around. When the officer saw the skunk stuck in the cup, he took the towel from his patrol car and wrapped it around the skunk’s tail and tried to pull it out.
The officer kept hoping that it doesn’t spray when it comes out or anything. A guy, Paul Beck was driving by when he saw this incident taking place and managed to capture the whole event.
The video started getting viral soon, and the officer got a lot of attention from people online. The local radio station got in action and said that the officer should be awarded a skunk saver certificate. It is so brave of him to put his social life on stake to save one sacred creature from the problem.
The officer claimed that this is the first time he got the public attention, but it is not the first time he saved the skunk because he has done it before and he claims that he will do it in future also if needed.
He told the WNDU during the conversation that during his early teens he had a pet skunk in the family for eight years.
He says he is aware of them because he has been around them for so many years. The officer requested to throw the cups in the trash, and I guess we all should be brave enough to help the creatures in such situations.
