A construction worker miraculously recovered after being impaled by a 3-foot-long steel rod during an accident at a construction site in China.
Known by his surname Zhu, the worker had the long pole speared in his torso after he fell from a 10-ft high building in the city of Nantong.
Fortunately, he survived the accident after a three-hour surgery to remove the steel rod.
According to Nantong Second People’s Hospital, Mr. Zhu was working on a construction site when he accidentally fell from the platform.

Mr. Zhu was immediately scheduled to have an operation after it was found more than two-thirds of the pole had pierced his abdomen.
Doctors also said that he was in a life-threatening condition as the rod could have damaged his organs and had already caused heavy bleeding.
Surgeons successfully removed the pole in a three-hour surgery. The steel rod measured 2ft 5in (90cm) long and 0.79inch (22cm) thick.
Mr. Zu was transferred to the intensive care unit where his condition improved after receiving treatment for almost a month.
