Surgeons were happy they could separate the twin girls as it was a challenging operation for them. They said the twins were weak and they were scared if they would survive the long operation but they are happy they did.

According to Mayo Clinic, conjoined twins develop when an early embryo only partially separates to form two individuals. Although two fetuses will develop from this embryo, they will remain physically connected — most often at the chest, abdomen or pelvis. Conjoined twins may also share one or more internal organs.

40 to 60 percent of conjoined twins are stillborn while about 35 percent survive only one day.
