GOP congressman admitted that he believes the election was not fraudulent just moments after insisting it was rigged.

25-year-old North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn, who remained on Trump’s side before and after the January 6 Capitol riot, appeared on CNN to defend his fight against the election results in a discussion with host Pamela Brown.

On January 6, Cawthorn appeared at Trump’s rally and addressed the MAGA crowd. Following the assault on the Capitol – during a joint session of Congress – the Republican proceeded by voting to uphold objections to Pennsylvania and Arizona’s votes.

During his appearance on CNN, the young congressman initially remained fixed on his election fraud allegations before making a bizarre U-turn and admitting the election was not fraudulent.

“The things that I was not objecting to were things like Dominion voting machines changing ballots or U-Haul trucks pulling up filled with ballots for Joe Biden,” the 25-year-old initially said after being asked to provide evidence that supports his claims of election fraud.

“The thing I was objecting for is things like, in the state of Wisconsin, particularly in the town of Madison, there was an appointed official in that town who actually went against the will of the state legislature and created ballot drop boxes, which is basically ballot harvesting that was happening in the parks.”

Responding to Cawthorn, Brown explained that all of the allegations were already litigated.

“But this was all litigated. You know the Trump campaign litigated all of this – more than 60 cases. Either the cases were dismissed, the Trump campaign withdrew, or they never brought a case because they didn’t have enough evidence to back it up,” she said.

“Indeed, I believe specifically, and this is the one that I debated on behalf of on the House floor, in Wisconsin that was never heard because they dismissed it because of standing. Now I don’t believe that is a concrete enough of a way to dismiss it,” Cawthorn replied.

After pointing out that he didn’t and couldn’t vote against Wisconsin results in the first place, Brown went on to challenge the congressman to provide “specific examples of fraud” to which Cawthorn couldn’t respond by providing concrete evidence.

“So you wanted to throw out millions of votes without actually seeing any concrete evidence of fraud? Because that’s what you were doing when you were contesting the election,” Brown added.

For the following few minutes, Cawthorn continued to defend his election results objections as he insisted he only wanted to “uphold the Constitution.”

Despite suggesting that the election was rigged for several minutes, the Republican then made a U-turn as he suddenly admitted he doesn’t believe the election was fraudulent.

“I think I would say the election was not fraudulent. The Constitution allowed for us to be able to push back as much as we could and I did that to the amount of the constitutional limits that I had at my disposal, so now I would say that Joseph R. Biden is our president,” he concluded.
