Congress members have urged President Biden to take a cognitive test and prove that he is “mentally fit” to lead the nation.
In a shocking letter addressed to the 46th US president, 13 Republican Congressmen and Congresswomen questioned Biden’s mental fitness and his capability to act as the country’s commander-in-chief.
Among other notes presented in the letter, the members of Congress listed several of the President’s so-called gaffes while suggesting that his “mental decline and forgetfulness” is obvious.
The letter, which was addressed to Biden, Dr. Fauci, and the president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, urges Biden to undergo a cognitive test and publish the results for all Americans to see.
“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their president. They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader,” the letter reads.
“I would argue that the American people don’t have that confidence in President Biden.”
The controversial letter was signed by the former White House doctor, Ronny L. Jackson, and 13 other GOP Congress members including Bob Gibbs, Jeff Duncan, Andy Harris, Brian Babin, Jody Hice, Claudia Tenney, W. Gregory Steube, Tom Tiffany, Kat Cammack, Jerry L. Carl, Pat Fallon, Diana Harshbarger, and Beth Van Duyne.
Among other gaffes cited in the letter, the Congress members recalled the time the President allegedly forgot the name of the Defense Secretary moments after saying the name aloud.
“Additionally, at the end of February, you visited Houston to survey the winter storm damage, where you misidentified the time of day and Senator John Cornyn’s title,” the letter adds.
“And you mispronounced Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s first name and Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher’s maiden name of Pannill.
“Then, apparently forgetting the purpose of your visit, you questioned, ‘what am I doing here?’”
Concluding the letter, the signatories urged the president to take a cognitive test as soon as possible and show the results to the American people.
