The activist’s tweet comes as millions of Americans have taken to the streets to protest police brutality and systemic racism in the country following the death of George Floyd.

Previously, in 2016, Kaepernick has sparked a revolutionary movement by refusing to stand, and taking a knee instead, as the National Anthem played during the match between San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers.

In the wake of nationwide protests against systemic racism, plenty of protesters as well as sports teams were seen taking a knee as a symbol of their support for the BLM movement.
