Cleaning our vehicles can be a lazy thing to do.
Taking the cleaner, and scrubbing the vehicle thoroughly to get rid of all the mud can be tricky and will exhaust you.
This is why we often tend to avoid doing the same. But it looks like we cannot keep avoiding it anymore because now police are looking forward to finding people who are driving vehicles covered in mud on the number plate.
Beware, drivers, if you are not washing your cars properly, you better do it now or the police will not think twice before charging you with a fine up to $450.
This is not it, the driver who will be fined with 3 demerit points if their number plates are not clearly visible.
NSW Police has made the announcement in regards to people driving around advising them to be specific about cleaning their vehicles.
The police said that neglecting the cleanliness and visibility of the number plate can cost a major amount.
Clause 25 of the NSW Roads and Maritime Services Regulations says that the plates on the vehicles should be kept clean and clear at all times.
No obscure should cover the face of it or it will be taken as an illegal offense. This is not it, you can also be fined if your number plate is not properly displayed or is hard to read.
In a post the NSW Police department that no one is allowed to hinge the number plate on their vehicles.
The department also added “The plates should be properly fixed and completely visible. They should be kept prevented from swinging. If this happens then it will be eligible for a fine of $448 and 3 points.”
The laws and penalties are applicable in all the states, but the fine and penalties differ in each state.
Police have done their job by advising people to stay in legal order now it is your turn to act on the same. If you do not then you should be ready to pay the penalties.
