Savannah Allen is a 22-year-old student who is pursuing her dream to become a dental hygienist from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College has always been aware of her colorblindness.
A lot of people have told her that her colorblindness can be a reason that’ll hold her back from achieving her dreams.
Since her childhood, she has a vision of working in the healthcare field. Savannah is even more determined to achieve her goals after getting an opportunity to working with patients in her University’s Dental Hygiene Clinic.
Recently, her instructor discovered that she has difficulty in differentiating between gum tissue and color of plaque. The problem was major as Allen was at the stage of giving up her goals.
When her friends got to know about her problem, they created a GoFundMe page for their friend so that she could get the money for the EnChroma colorblind corrective glasses.
Soon, the page was able to collect $400 as all the 40 students in the dental program donated for Savannah. Allen was so happy when her classmates surprised her with the corrective glasses.
It was a heartwarming moment to see how supportive her classmates and friends were so that Savannah can achieve her dream.
After wearing the corrective glasses, Savannah was able to see different colors for the first time in her life, and it also made her eligible to continue her dental program further.
Savannah said that she is so happy with the glasses because first time in her life she can see all the beautiful and bright colors and also it is incredible how my friends have helped me through this.
She is extremely happy to be able to continue her dental program.
