5 Exercises To Relieve Chronic Knee Pain


Around 15% to 25% of Americans suffer from knee pain, which is considered the second-largest chronic pain in the world.

Though there are proper medications to treat the pain, organic ways are always the best to treat the pain naturally.

Below are a few effective exercises that you can follow to get relief from such chronic pain:-

Heel Raises

Take a chair and stand right behind it. Now gently raise your one leg upwards and raise on the heels of your other leg till you stand on the toes. Gently place the heel back on the floor. Repeat this at least 10-15 times for better results.

Toe Walking

As the name suggests, it is simply walking on your toes. You can even do this at your home or on your lawn. Walk on your toes and gradually increase the pace. This will help in strengthening your calves. Do toe walking for 5-15 minutes a day.

Ankle Circles

This works wonders for weak ankles. Raise one leg, either while sitting or standing. Start rotating your ankle in a circular motion till you feel the pressure. Repeat this exercise 20 times for inward circle and 10 times for outward circle.

Resistance Training

You would need a resistance band for this exercise. Fix the band on a firm place, either on the couch leg or any standing furniture. Put your one leg under the other. Grab the resistance band by your foot, and slowly pull the band towards yourself. Repeat the exercise with each leg for 10-15 times.

Toe Games

If you have heard about a game called grabbing, then you can easily do this exercise. Curl your toes inward. Put a towel or thick cloth on the floor and it with your toes. Putt pebbles on the floor and try to put them into a basket with your feet.
