Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger announced the birth of their baby and revealed her name following months after the couple’s pregnancy was confirmed.
To celebrate the birth of the couple’s first baby with their fans, 41-year-old ‘The Guardians Of The Galaxy’ star Chris Pratt took to Instagram and revealed the newborn’s name.
“We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier,” the actor wrote.
“Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”
Along with the sweet message, the Jurassic World actor also shared the following two Psalm verses.
Psalm 126:3 – “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
Psalm 127:3-4 – “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
While Chris has another child, 7-year-old Jack, with actress Anna Faris, baby Lyla Maria represents Katherine’s firstborn.
The birth of the celebrity couple’s first child was first confirmed by the actor’s brother, Patrick, who told ET that the couple is doing great and that they had just received “a little gift.”
Previously, at the beginning of May, the rumors of the couple’s pregnancy got confirmed as Pratt appeared in #HomeTogether series which is hosted on Instagram by Maria Shriver, Katherine’s mother.
“You’re gonna have another beautiful family member,” Shriver told the actor on May 1. Just days later, Katherine was spotted flaunting her baby bump while enjoying a walk with her dog near her home.
