Chris Hemsworth will finally get his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 35-year-old actor will join the likes of Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, Cindy Crawford and 30 other famous names.
In a statement, selection committee chair and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona said: “This year’s choices were particularly unique. We were able to recognise the talents of 35 artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories.”
Chris who is famous for his role as superhero Thor in the Avengers franchise has become one of the highest paid stars.
He told BUILD Series: “I found when I first got to Hollywood, I had this idea of, ‘This is what a leading man has to be, speak this way, and act this way,’ and be a little bit tortured or something,”
“Even in the work I was doing, I felt myself kind of restricted and playing by these rules I had sort of set for what I thought was the archetype for what was gonna work.”
“I then played in Thor 1, and there was comedy in that, there was a great sort of fish out of water quality to it, but there was a Shakespearean element too which was a little bit more sort of serious and I love that film, I’m so proud of it.point 307 |
And through the other versions of Thor, and it was my doing, I started to restrict it a bit more and felt a little bit kind of trapped in applying these things I thought I had to be cool, strong and so on.point 163 | ”point 166 | 1
But Thor star is not having his name on the Los Angeles landmark for the first time as earlier this year Chris and the Avengers team all had their handprints cemented along the famous walkway to celebrate their work on the phenomenally successful Marvel saga.
Hemsworth wrote on social media: “I remember many years ago carving my name into wet concrete on the sidewalk outside my grandma’s place.’’
“Little did I know that years on those skills would come in handy! Honored to share this moment with my Avenging mates on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
