Chinese Couple Who Tested Positive For Coronavirus In Italy Visited Rome, Verona, Milan And Parma Before They Were Quarantined


A 66-year-old man and his 65-year-old wife who tested positive for coronavirus in Italy visited Rome, Parma, Verona, and Parma before they were quarantined.

The Chinese couple from Wuhan, China landed in Milan on January 23 and went on a tour with other 18 tourists.

They were taken to the Spallanzani hospital after they started developing symptoms but reports say they are now stable.

The other members of their tour group were also taken to the same hospital where they are monitored by doctors, according to The Times.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte suspended air travel between China and Italy and said he would also arrange a meeting with the Council of Ministers to talk about ‘further measures.’

“We have already prepared all the precautionary measures to isolate these two cases,” he said to CNN. “There is no reason to create social alarm or panic.”

This comes after the 7,000 passengers in Costa Smeralda cruise ship were finally allowed to leave the vessel after it was confirmed that the two people onboard who became feverish didn’t have the killer virus.

A 54-year-old Chinese woman from Macau developed mild flu-like symptoms and was placed in an isolation unit with her husband. Both tested negative for coronavirus, according to the health ministry of Italy.
