China has again shut down swimming pools and gyms in Beijing amidst fears that it is vulnerable to coronavirus’s second wave.
It comes days after China quarantined a city with 10 million people in the north-western region near Russia.
On Saturday, the northwestern Chinese province of Shaanxi reported 7 new imported cases of COVID-19, all found in Chinese citizens returning from Russia.
Another outbreak would be a setback for the Chinese President who is struggling to restart the economy of the nation and present the image of power to everyone in the world.
Beijing says that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in China where the virus originated in December in 2019 does not stand at 82,826.
As of 24th April, the death toll has remained at 4,632 without any increase.
However, there is common disbelief at those numbers across the world from Western leaders who are accusing Beijing of letting the virus spread in the world while China’s leaders saved face.
The U.S.A. President Donald Trump accused the WHO of colluding with China to downplay its COVID-19 outbreak amidst doubts over the claim of China to have just 4,632 dead from the disease.
As per the people of Wuhan, the death toll in Wuhan, which was the coronavirus outbreak’s epicenter, is 42,000 and not 3,182 as claimed by China.
Donald Trump is backed by a huge number of Republican politicians amidst claims from the U.S.A. intelligence community that coronavirus escaped from a laboratory near Wuhan in an accident that involved an intern.
Even the U.K.’s Downing Street has eliminated China from the list of countries it utilizes to compare coronavirus spread to express annoyance over covering-up the intensity of the coronavirus outbreak in China.
Chinese who are returning to the nation from overseas are being ordered to quarantine and swimming pools and gyms are being shut down due to fears of another spike in the disease.
