With China Loosening Its Travel Restrictions, The Tourists Sites Are Getting Packed With Visitors


Despite the health officials warning that the coronavirus pandemic is not over, a vast number of people traveled to popular tourist destinations in different regions of China during the holiday weekend.

As per the reports, destinations including the Bund Waterfront located in Shanghai was seen again being jammed with tourists and shoppers after several weeks of being deserted during the countrywide lockdown.

Additionally, restaurants in the city were also busy with many of them needing reservations again.

A similar situation can be seen in Beijing, the capital city where the public open spaces are filled with people.

A picture was clicked at the Huangshan Mountain located in the southern Anhui Province, Eastern China that showed thousands of visitors crammed together on a narrow walkway.

Many of the people in the photograph can be seen wearing face masks.

It is natural that people after months of strict isolation and travel restrictions would be eager to experience the outdoor again.

In fact, the Huangshan Mountain reached its limit of the daily visitors (20,000) by 7:48 am on Sunday.

Visitors were waiting in the line for hours, and after the limit was met, they were advised to come back on another day.

The normality comes after over three months of the virus being detected first in the Wuhan, China. The coronavirus, which has now spread across the globe, has affected millions of people.

In order to contain the spread of this deadly virus, China had to impose a halt in almost all of its activities and go into complete isolation for months.

According to the chief epidemiologist, Zeng Guang who works with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that the country had not seen the end of this disease; however, it has stepped into a new stage.

Over the last couple of weeks, the government of China has been careful about re-opening the public sites as they do not wish to risk the spread of the virus again in the country.
