A teacher gets emotional after a kid in her class asks an innocent question about food.
The teacher realized the harsh reality of child hunger amongst the children after this question.
Brooke Goins is a teacher in Jacksboro Elementary School, which is in Tennessee, and she got tears in her eyes when a boy in her class asked her about the arrival time of the lady who puts food in the bag.
The teacher was shocked when she got to know that the kid doesn’t have food at his house and needs something to fill the hunger.
So after the innocent question asked by the boy, the teacher asked him his favorite food from the bag. The teacher discovered that the boy doesn’t have food at home after she asked him a question about his favorite food from his bag.
The kid laughed at the question and said that he had none at his house.
The little kid further explained to the teacher that he didn’t have any food at his home, but whenever they have food in the house, he gets to go to sleep with a warm belly and a happy heart.
The innocent words made the teacher cry, and she couldn’t control it in front of the students.
She further said that she couldn’t resist crying in front of 20 little kids because no kid should ever have to go to sleep with an empty stomach.
After the emotional breakdown, Brooke texted all her teacher friends so that they could all go out and pitch in money to bring some food for the little kid.
She further said that it’s tough to be a teacher sometimes, but she was delighted to see that kid get happy over getting so much food to eat. You never know how big difference one act of kindness can make in someone’s life, so always be kind.
