Every expectant parent prays that their child is born without any physical or mental disorders.
It is a nightmare for any parent to listen to the bad news from a doctor that there is something wrong with their child.
Victoria Silvestri is one of such parents who has gone through those hard times but the way she is handling the situation has set an example for all the parents about raising their children born with disabilities.
Victoria got married in her early twenties with the love of her life. After several years the parents decided to start a family and decided to have a baby.
When Victoria found out that she is pregnant, it was an unforgettable moment for her and she wanted to make the moment special for her husband too. That’s why she bought a tiny little onesie and wrote a note from the baby.
But after a few weeks later, she came to know about shocking news. When doctors were examining her ultrasound, they told her something that she never thought of.
Doctors revealed that the baby looks quite healthy but his face has signs of some sort of abnormalities. They didn’t know how bad the disfigured face was as it can only be known once the baby is delivered.
When Victoria heard about it, she started crying. Although her husband tried to console her he himself was broken from inside after hearing the news.
Yet with the passage of time, the couple became emotionally stronger and they decided that no matter what happens, they will keep the child and will love him/her like no other parent on the planet.
And finally, she gave birth to her son, Gavin. When Gavin was born, he was weighing around 7 pounds and was quite healthy but with a disfigured face.
But the parent loved him so much as he was the most beautiful and precious thing for them.
Victoria says, “Looking at my baby for the first time was pure bliss. I never knew I could love someone so much. I never once cried seeing how severe his malformation was.”
