A tattoo joke has landed a teenager the envious crown of Chicken Queen of Australia and a year’s worth of free KFC.
19-year-old Brooke Collins won the ‘Chicken Cheque’ after one of the biggest fast food outlets in the world organized a national search for the best ‘hilarious story’ about the greasy delicacy.
She won the title a year after she got her ankle inked with the global icon ‘KFC’ when she was at her schoolies trip to the Gold Coast.
Brooke posted the picture of her with the KFC tattoo on her Facebook wall and wrote that if this doesn’t show the love and dedication for KFC, then she doesn’t know what else does.
She said that she and her friend bonded over KFC’s fried chicken during year 12 and that they wanted to get similar tattoos at schoolies.
She said that when they got to the Gold Coast, they had few hours left before check-in. So they decided to go to the tattoo parlor and to get themselves inked. She said that the tattoo artists at the parlor could not believe when they said what they wanted.
Brooke and her friend got the same KFC tattoo on the inside of their foot. She said it was a big deal for her and added that she and her best friend always hoped that something crazy would come out of this.
KFC was looking for ‘whacky anecdotes and huge displays of immense love for KFC tasty fried chicken’ to give the winner the ‘Queen of Chicken 2018’ title and a ‘Chicken Cheque’ worth $5200.
Brooke, the Chicken Queen will now get $100 worth of free KFC products per week for the next one year.
One of the spokespersons of the franchise, Angela Richards said that National Fried Chicken Day (celebrated on 6th July) is one of the favorite dates on the calendar, so KFC decided to do something special for the people who adore KFC.
Thousands of people were enrolled for the competition to compete for the Chicken Cheque.
