A charity has recently opened up about keeping Meghan Markle’s donation a secret due to fears it would negatively affect their reputation.

According to the reports, it was August when the Duchess of Sussex decided to make use of The Royal Foundation funds and direct £10,000 to a charity called Himmah.

As their website states, Himmah is a grassroots initiative based in Nottingham that tackles issues surrounding racism, mental wellbeing, poverty, and social exclusion.

While the donation was made months ago, Himmah’s director now spoke out and claimed they were afraid to disclose the information because of how many people disliked Meghan.

“The reason we didn’t go public is the trustees took a view that she was like Marmite and there could be reputational issues – people not liking our charity because they don’t like her – so we decided to keep the donation secret,” Sajid Mohammad admitted in an interview with BBC.

Their opinions changed, however, when Meghan decided to accuse the Royal Family of racism and claim she had been suffering from mental health issues during her time in the Palace.

“After the interview, we realized we’re a poverty and race organization [and] that we needed to show solidarity,” the director added.

During the bombshell CBS interview with Oprah, Meghan and Harry went on to accuse an unnamed senior royal of voicing concern that Archie’s skin would be too dark.

The couple also insisted that Meghan was barred from getting mental health treatment while feeling suicidal because the Royal Family would look bad because of it.

Speaking of Meghan and Harry’s explosive allegations, Mr Mohammad added he hopes people can think “beyond the interview” and recognize what the couple has done for the country before they left for the United States.

“I think that work needs to be recognized,” he added as he admitted breaking into tears after realizing that Meghan’s massive donation was a real thing and not an “elaborate hoax.”
