Channing Tatum filed to change child custody agreement with ex-Jenna Dewan and he asked a Los Angeles judge to put an official custody schedule in place for him and his estranged wife.
According to Channing their daughter, Everly, will thrive more ‘with structure and consistency because she is happy and more relaxed when she knows a plan.’
He initially asked for joint legal and physical custody of Everly, five, as well as child support and spousal support.
‘’Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well.’’ he summarized the transition.
The 38-year-old actor is asking for split custody during the week and alternate visitation on weekends as well as sharing holidays.
Channing also suggests each of them get two weeks with their daughter exclusively during her summer vacation, and to split up Christmas Eve and Christmas Day evenly, and the same for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Jenna and Channing tied the knot at a Malibu vineyard in 2009, welcoming their daughter Everly in 2013.
They announced their divorce in April 2018 that they were amicably separating, although it took until October for Jenna to finally file for divorce.
After their split, they were still on good terms and often spent quality time together as a family for their daughter’s sake.
Both of them have since moved on as Channing is dating singer Jessie J, while Dewan has been seeing actor Steve Kazee.
‘’I’m obviously super aware that people know me, they know Channing, they know us together,’’ Jenna told the new January issue of Cosmopolitan.
‘’We’d been a beloved couple for a long time. I was in Berlin and people were like: “We love your Lip Sync Battle!” I was like, oh my god. You mean the time when I humped my husband-at-the-time’s face? I’m so glad that’s my calling card,’ she quipped.’’
‘’I do believe in love still, but I also believe it begins with really digging deep and learning how to love yourself.’’
‘’And then I think you sort of transmute that out to attract the right partner. I think that people who are meant to be sort of find each other.’’
