Cat Feels Unloved And Lonely After Nobody Turned Up To Her Birthday Party

A sad feline at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is searching for a forever home after nobody turned up to her birthday party.

The 2-year-old cat named Monique has been at the home for over three months but she’s “patiently awaiting her forever home.”

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home describe the adorable feline as a ‘unique girl’ with an ‘adorable and gentle nature and a lot of affection to give.’

But even though she’s beautiful inside and out, the 2-year-old feline is feeling unloved and lonely.

“Monique loves spending time with her human friends and enjoys leaping around her pen when they play with her favourite string toy. She also loves a good head and chin rub, and will let you know just how much by purring away in delight!” the Battersea website wrote.

“Monique longs for a home and garden of her own where she can play until her heart’s content and snooze away on her new family’s warm laps. Monique is looking for an enclosed garden she can access via a cat flap.”

You see, Monique has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, a slow-acting virus that can’t be transmitted to humans.

Battersea explained: “FIV is a slow-acting virus and most cats live long, happy and healthy lives. However, in order to protect other cats and to preserve the health of the carrier, Battersea rehomes FIV+ cats to homes with cat proof gardens.

“Don’t worry if your garden isn’t currently ‘cat-proofed’ as we can offer plenty of advice. We’ll also arrange for you to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming.”

Battersea’s Cattery Team Leader Chrissie Grindrod said: “It’s always a shame to see one of our cats be repeatedly overlooked, especially one so young and with so much to offer as a pet.

“Monique is a gentle soul who thrives with human company, whether that be playing with her favourite toys together or curling up side by side on the sofa. She also won’t ever say no to a chin rub or two.

“Her birthday and Valentine’s Day may now have passed, but it’s not too late to give Monique her dream gift of a lovely new home.”
