He had all of their attention until they brought home his baby brother, and he was not delighted with the new member of the family.

The feline’s mom, Jess Davern, told The Dodo: “He was terrified of my son when we brought him home. He would jump and run out of the room if he realized the baby was close.”

Even though Loki already got used to the little human being around, his loving parents were not sure if the two would ever enjoy each other’s company.

But one morning, Davern was preparing to go when she checked the baby monitor and saw something incredible…

Loki was on the baby’s bed showing his little brother lots of affection and rubbing up against him. Davern was so shocked but also happy to see that their furry companion loves his baby brother after all.

“I was super surprised,” Davern shared. “Normally it’s me he does that to in the morning.”

Lokie does not always show it but he loves his human baby brother. Davern hopes she will see more of their heartwarming moments on the baby monitor.

“As soon as I saw it I started recording the footage,” she expressed.

The Spruce Pets advises cat owners to prepare their feline months before the baby comes home. Parents can start by decorating the nursery or allowing the cat to check around for the new baby furniture and toys.

Parents may also consider praising the cat continuously when it behaves in a calm manner around the baby.
