With social media on the rise, some people find it hard to resist sharing their thoughts and opinions with the rest of the world.
While freedom of speech is still a thing, everything that you post on social media is open to the world and sensitive or controversial remarks can quickly backfire.
Unfortunately for the people in this article, posting before thinking twice got them fired and ruined their career for good!
#1 – Gabriella Pasqualotto, an aspiring cheerleader, was removed from the team after sharing personal details about the members of her squad in her online diary.
#2 – Rashard Mendenhall lost all support and was eventually forced to quit on professional football career after tweeting about Osama Bin Laden’s death.
#3 – Nicole Crowther, Glee Extra, had her career ruined after sharing spoilers of the show with her fans.
#4 – Cameron Jankowski, a Taco Bell employee, was fired after he posted a photo of himself peeing on nachos.
#5 – A ZOO worker was slammed by social media users after captioning a photo she posted with: “Wassup y’all? At work serving these rude ass white people.” After her post went viral, she received a huge backlash causing her to quit her job and close social media accounts.
#6 – Damian Goddard, a sportscaster from Toronto, was fired after a ‘homophobic’ tweet in which he expressed his support for “Todd Reynolds and his support for the traditional and TRUE meaning of marriage.”
#7 – Hairdresser was left without a job after complaining about the staff who chose to save a dying woman rather than focus on serving her and her company.
#8 – Apple legally fired Samuel Crisp, one of their employees, after the man posted a series of posts in which he was ranting about Apple products.
#9 – Justine Sacco, a former IAC Exec, was fired after tweeting: “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just Kidding. I’m white!”
#10 – Stephanie Bon, a Lloyds bank worker, was fired after comparing her salary with the salary of her boss in an online post.
#11 – A security guard was fired after posting a video of himself farting while on duty over a period of six months.
