Cardi B screamed at police in Beverly Hills to release her husband Offset after he was detained.
The 28-year-old singer, who was held back by her friend, yelled: “That’s my husband! Why are you pointing a gun at him?”
Offset, who had been detained for allegedly waving a gun at Trump supporters, can be heard telling cops who asked him to step away from his orange Jeep: “I’m not going anywhere.”
Cardi B then screamed: “Let me record this.”
As her husband was taken away, the singer shouted: “No! This is crazy! My husband is not armed. My husband is not armed.”
Offset was then photographed being questioned by cops. He was released without charge, and it was Cardi B’s cousin, 20-year-old Marcelo Alamanzar, who got arrested on two charges of carrying a loaded firearm in public and carrying a concealed weapon.
Almanzar was later released on a $35,000 bail.
This comes after Offset pulled over by Beverly Hills cops and filmed the incident. He then shared the video on Instagram while being questioned by officers who asked him to step out of his vehicle.
One of the officers told the rapper that there had been a report that he was ‘waving guns at people’ and he said that Trump supporters had hit his vehicle with a flag.
The Beverly Hills Police Department told Daily Mail in a statement that it was Almanzar who got arrested.
“Shortly after 5pm, Beverly Hills Police received information from a passerby of a subject who pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him. The passerby provided a license plate to the vehicle, and the vehicle was stopped by patrol units a short distance away,” the statement read.
“After the on-scene investigation, the passenger in the vehicle [Almanzar] was arrested.”
