Mother Begged Stockpilers To Stop Being Selfish As She Is Struggling To Feed Her Son Who Has 28 Allergies


A mother has begged stockpilers to stop clearing the shelves amid coronavirus crisis as the wrong food can kill her son.

A mother-of-two Nathalie Newman from Buckinghamshire revealed that her eight-year-old son Callum has 28 allergies.

The eight-year-old has been hospitalized 40 times and can’t eat dairy products, nuts, eggs, and citrus fruits as these can prove to be fatal.

The 38-year-old mother told FABULOUS: “Callum’s been hospitalized quite a few times by his allergies and eczema – in the 30s or 40s.”

Nathalie told there were three occasions when they thought they would lose their child and wouldn’t get him back.

She said: “It is scary, it’s like living with a ticking time bomb because you never know when the next reaction’s going to hit.”

Nathalie told that her son can only have gluten-free pasta, unprocessed meat, and oat milk but due to the coronavirus panic buying, she and her husband Jonathan are struggling to find these things at the supermarkets.

She has now begged stockpiler to stop being selfish and not to clear the shelves as they been struggling to get Callum’s oat milk and gluten-free pasta.

Nathalie said: “There were days when there wasn’t even any meat. The shelves were just empty. Meat is a staple go-to for almost all allergies.”

“It breaks my heart every time I have to see Callum’s face when I tell him we’ve run out, because I’m already having to tell him ‘no’ all the time.”

She said the situation concerns her as a lot of people are stockpiling not because they need to but because everyone is doing it.

She said for her son, it is a matter of life and death as she can’t feed him dairy products, nuts, eggs, and citrus fruits as these can kill him.

The parents rely only on gluten-free pasta, unprocessed meat, and oat milk but they are struggling to find these because of some selfish people.

Nathalie said: “This selfish behaviour is really sad to see, at a time when we should be pulling together.”

The mother begged everyone to stop being selfish and think of the people who are allergic to some foods and can’t eat everything which is available.
